CDR William DeHart, USN (Retired) (November 2015)​

​William “Billy” DeHart, 90 of Charlotte Hall, MD (formerly of Cobb Island, MD) died on November 15, 2015 at the Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. Billy was born on February 18, 1925 in Colorado Springs, CO to the late Howard DeHart and Eula Bishop.
 
Billy is predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, Roberta DeHart and sons, Ronald DeHart and Howard DeHart. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Tull and her husband, Sandy; son Keith DeHart; brother, Louis Pulis; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
 
Billy served 32 years in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1974 as a Commander. He cruised as XO with VAW-11 DET A from 9/15/64 - 11/23/65 in USS MIDWAY. First VAW-113 XO to CDR
J.R. Eckstien, assumed command February 1968 and turned over to CDR J.H. Shaw in February 1969.
 
He was a member of the Dahlgren United Methodist Church. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing on his computer and working in his yard.
