CDR Donald N. Daugherty, USN (Retired) (October 2016)

​Commander Donald N. Daugherty, 82, died at his home in Virginia Beach, VA on October 18, 2016, from pancreatic cancer. He is survived by Gael R. Daugherty, his wife of 57 years; daughters MaryGael Timberlake and Donna Ruth Daugherty Haycox; sons-in-law Edward Julius Timberlake, IV, and William Cromwell Haycox, Jr; grandchildren Emily Gael Timberlake,
Edward Julius Timberlake, V, Miriam Whitley Haycox, and Claire Daugherty Haycox; and great-grandchildren Edward Julius Timberlake, VI, and Chloe Mette Timberlake.
 
Don served as an aviator and weapons specialist in the US Navy for 22 years. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for 20 years as a contractor for the US Defense Department.
