CAPT Jack Martyn Wilbern, USN (Retired) (May 2013)

After a brief but aggressive illness, Jack passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013 in Palm Coast, Florida. Jack began his naval career at the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1956 and after a distinguished career as a pilot including serving as Commanding Officer of VAW-114 in the mid-70s and raising a family of two sons and a daughter, he retired a Captain in 1980. His retirement allowed him to pursue his passion for acting. A member of SAG/AFTRA, he appeared in numerous film, television and stage productions in the Washington DC area. He continued his stage work at the Flagler Playhouse in Palm Coast. He is survived by his wife Georgia; two sons; three step-children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery on January 27, 2014 at 2:15 p.m. in the afternoon. For details contact Jack Wilbern Jr. at anc@butzwilbern.com.
