​Bernard G. Roberson CHESAPEAKE – Bernard Gordon Roberson, 70, of the 1000 block of Waters Road, passed away Aug. 13, 2009, in his home. Born in Parmele, N.C., he was the son of the late Nicholos and Blanche Roberson. Mr. Roberson was retired as a Captain from the U.S. Navy after 28 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret Friar Roberson; three daughters, Tricia Thomas and husband Paul, Teresa Quagliariello and husband Tony and Christy Roberson; two grandchildren, Dylan and Sophia; and a brother, Jimmy Roberson. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center, c/o Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, 736 N. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
